SLP has been designing and manufacturing sensors for the diagnosis of sleep disorders for over 15 years. The combination of highly skilled engineers collaborating with world class sleep medicine professionals has resulted in a line of sensors that is truly best in class.
Although most sensors in the market may appear similar there are in fact many differences between their design, choice of materials, and performance. It is these differences that make SLP's sensors last longer, work under any condition, and produce excellent signal quality.
Talking with technicians and sensors sales people you often hear claims about one sensor being more sensitive that another. The truth is that with today’s high performance polysomnographic amplifiers, any sensor, even one designed by a monkey, can produce a readable signal. If the signal appears too small or “dirty” all you have to do is increase the amplification or adjust the filters to get something that looks like a good signal. The question is in fact different: which sensor has a better signal to noise ratio or SNR.
